Henry Hasse, 84, retired Cavendish farmer
COTTONWOOD - Visitation for Cavendish resident Henry Hasse, 84, who died at his home Wednesday, will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Uhlorn Funeral Home in Cottonwood.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at the Teakean Ridge Cemetery. It will be officiated by Pastor Steven McCandress of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Cottonwood.
Hasse, a retired Cavendish area farmer and swine producer, died from complications resulting from a stroke.
He was born Jan. 25, 1914, to Walter and Della L. Heflin at San Bernadino, Calif. He later was adopted by Arthur and Jenny Hasse and attended school at Ferdinand, Idaho.
In 1934 he enter the U.S. Army and served in Germany and Hawaii and was honorably discharged in 1938.
He farmed and raised pigs on Teakean Ridge north of Orofino until his retirement and lived on the farm until his death.
He married Mary A. Lauer Sept. 10, 1940, at Ferdinand. She survives at their home.
He was the past president of the Swine Growers Association and was named grassman of the year in 1962.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother, Harry Hasse of Dallas, Ore. He was preceded in death by a son, Henry Joe, a brother, Perry Heflin, and a sister.
The family suggest memorials be contribution to Clearwater Home Health Service at Orofino or the Cream Ridge Church at Lenore.
